FuelSense

Data usage & privacy policy

Effective 2 October 2026

FuelSense is local-first: most of your data never leaves your phone. This policy lists exactly what is stored, where, and what is sent to which service.

1. Stored on your phone

Vehicles, fuel logs, expenses, maintenance, rides and route points, saved routes and trips, Economy Score history, Copilot insights, community posts, documents (RC, PUC, insurance) and photos. The database is encrypted. Signing out or deleting the account erases it from the phone; your Google Drive backup is kept.

2. Safety and medical data

Your emergency profile, medical details and emergency contacts stay on your phone. They are never backed up, never sent to the AI and only shared when you choose to (for example by showing your Safety ID or tapping SOS).

3. Your account

With online accounts, your email, name and password (stored hashed by Google Firebase) and your public Community profile (username, name, bio, city, riding style) are stored in Firebase, with the Google account your backup goes to (so we can offer to restore it). Deleting the account deletes all of these. If you tell us why you left, that note is stored without your name, email or account. Without online accounts, the account is kept on this phone only.

4. Backup (your Google Drive)

Only if you turn it on: your records are copied to a spreadsheet, and your documents to a "FuelSense Documents" folder, in your Google Drive. FuelSense uses access only to files it creates. We have no server copy of your garage.

5. AI Copilot

When you ask the Copilot a question online, the question and a summary of your vehicle data (vehicles, fuel, expenses, service, rides, paperwork dates, scores, fuel price) go through the FuelSense server to Google Gemini to write the answer. Safety and medical data are excluded. Nothing is stored on our server. Offline answers are made on your phone.

6. Location

Used to find your city for fuel prices and weather, to record rides (in the background only while a ride is recording), and for route previews. FuelSense never tracks you otherwise.

7. Services that receive data when you use a feature

8. Notifications

Reminders (service, insurance, PUC, planned trips) are scheduled on your phone. No push service receives your data.

9. Your choices and rights

10. Children

FuelSense is meant for licensed riders and drivers and is not directed at children.
